SIERRA CREEK PARK SUBMITTALApril 11, 2023:
The future site of Sierra Creek Park is located at Watt and Davidson Drive, Antelope. This 7+ acre undeveloped site is currently under design. The District’s Board of Director’s hired O’Dell Engineering to complete the design of the new neighborhood park. Previously, the District applied for and received a $2.85 million Proposition 68 Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program Grant for the design and construction of Sierra Creek Park.
As a precursor to receiving the grant, the District held five community meetings in 2019. Residents attending these meetings were asked to consider the type of recreational features and amenities they wanted included in the park. These ideas were compiled and carried forward from one meeting to the next. Those recreational amenities that garnered the greatest approval were then voted on and included in the park’s final draft design which was included in the District’s grant application.
The park design elements include an interpretive walking trail system, a community garden, picnic and shade structures for family and group gatherings, two pedestrian bridges, exercise stations, ADA accessible children’s play structures, parking lot, free play turf areas, outdoor performance amphitheater, park restrooms, art structures, etc.
The final design completion date is scheduled for early fall 2024. The project is scheduled to go out to bid in late fall 2024 with construction scheduled to begin in early 2025.
Periodically check the District’s website for future park updates!
