To help enrich and fulfill the lives of the citizens through the provision of facilities and programs that will provide and enhance creative, wholesome and imaginative leisure time living patterns with emphasis on family and youth oriented programs.
The History of the District
The North Highlands Recreation and Park District is an independent special district located in Sacramento County. The District is governed by an elected five member Board of Directors and managed by a District Administrator. The District serves a population of 49,327.
The District is comprised of a total of 13 parks. Some of the recreation facilities were acquired as a result of the closure of McClellan Air Force Base.

The District Office and operations will be closed on the following days:

February 12, 2024 - President Lincoln's Birthday
February 19, 2024 - President's Day
May 27, 2024 - Memorial Day
July 4, 2024 - Independence Day
September 2, 2024 - Labor Day
November 11, 2024 - Veteran's Day
November 28 - 29, 2024 - Thanksgiving Break
December 24 - 25, 2024 - Christmas Break
December 31, 2024 - January 1, 2025 - New Years Break
Refund Policy
All refund requests must be made by either an email to recreation@nhrpd.org or by a written letter that is turned in at the North Highlands District Office. The refund request will then go to the District Administrator who will then determine if a refund is granted.
All refund checks will be processed through the County of Sacramento and mailed within 2 – 4 weeks. Refunds/credits are not given for uniforms of jerseys.
