Scholarship Program

Scholarship Availability
- Scholarships cover 50% of any program cost up to $150.00 per participant per fiscal year.
- Participants are eligible to apply multiple times and may receive up to a max of $150.00 towards activities or program fees per fiscal year.
- Scholarship recipients who do not attend the activity or program, in which they received financial assistance, will be ineligible to receive additional scholarship fund for the remainder of the calendar year.
- Exception: Written Doctor’s note
- Scholarships can only be used for activity or program fees only
- Approved applicants must pay the remaining balance of the activity or program fee at the time of registration.
Eligibility
- Live in North Highlands Recreation & Park District boundaries or within the 95660 zip code (acceptable documents that support the claim – please provide one with your application)
- Valid CA driver’s license or government issued ID
- Employment check stub
- Utility bill (less than 90 days old) in the name of the family seeking assistance
- Scholarships are available for youth 17 years or younger or Seniors 55 years and older.
- Must apply at least ten (10) business days prior to the program start date.
- Must show financial hardship by providing a written narrative on the application describing your financial hardship and circumstances.
- Must be available attend the program/activity.
- Applicant and family must be within the annual cap of the current fiscal year. (max. $100.00 per fiscal year)
Steps to Apply
- Complete the Scholarship Application
- Submit the application and attached documents in person, at least ten (10) business days prior to the first day of the activity/prgram for which assistance is requested. Submit to the North Highlands Recreation & Park District (6040 Watt Avenue, North Highlands CA 95660).
