Sergio Portela, Parks Supervisor, was awarded the 2023 Outstanding District Employee award by the California Association of Recreation and Park Districts. Over 60 other applicants in the state were nominated for the award and Sergio was chosen for his dedication to his career, maintenance team and the 48 years of service to NHRPD! Sergio is a huge asset to our team and if you see him working hard out at our parks, be sure to tell him "Congratulations!"
Larry Mazzuca, District Administrator, was awarded the Jim Meredith Award of Excellence for his unmatched devotion to Parks and Recreation. Larry came out of retirement to accept the position as NHRPD's District Administrator. Nine years later, Larry has made monumental changes to the District that have helped elevate programs, services, facilities and parks we provide to the community.
