To help enrich and fulfill the lives of the citizens through the provision of facilities and programs that will provide and enhance creative, wholesome and imaginative leisure time living patterns with emphasis on family and youth oriented programs.

The History of the District

The North Highlands Recreation and Park District is an independent special district located in Sacramento County. The District is governed by an elected five member Board of Directors and managed by a District Administrator. The District serves a population of 43,507.

The District is comprised of a total of thirteen parks. Some of the recreation facilities were acquired as a result of the closure of McCellan Air Force Base.

Refund Policy

Child Care & Youth Sports

A full refund or credit will be issued to a participant if a class/activity is canceled by North Highlands Recreation and Park District

All refund checks will be processed through the County of Sacramento and mailed within 2 – 4 weeks.

Refunds/credits are not given for uniforms of jerseys.

All refund requests must be made by either an email to sarah@nhrpd.org or by a written letter that is turned in at the North Highlands District Office. The refund request will then go to the District Administrator who will then determine if a refund is granted.

The District Office and North Highlands Community Center will be closed on the following days.

Assembly Bill (“AB”) 2040,effective on January 1, 2015, requires districts to disclose to the State Controller’s Office the annual compensation of elected officials, officers, and employees by amending/adding Government Code sections 12463, 53892, and 53908.
